Fusing now replaces stained glass in daily life as well as architectural areas. Beginner level students will enjoy working with this technique, cutting glass, preparing patterns and making their own objects like panels, plates and even some small jewelry. At the end, you will be surprised to see what you have done during two days. Do not forget to bring a clean bottle with you and be prepared for a surprise....

Day I

10:00 - 10:30 The Glass Furnace Presentation
10:30 - 11:00 Brief regarding the fusing technique and equipment, and safety issues.
10:30 - 11:00 Participants try cutting glass and prepare 10*10 cm glass panels for sandblasting.
11:00 - 11:15 Break
11:15 - 12:00 Participants try making patterns on square panels by cutting colored glasses.
12:00 - 13:00 Lunch
13:00 - 13:30 Participants examine fusing masterpieces of glass artists
13:30 - 15:30 Participants make 2 jewelry pieces and 2 plates
15:30 - 16:00 Participants are informed of how to kiln fire pieces and place their pieces in the kiln.

Day II

10:00 - 11:00 Participants are taught how to fuse copper and dried leaves between two glasses and make patterns using these materials on two coasters and 1 plate.
11:00 - 11:15 Break
11:15 - 12:00 Participants are taught the applications of powder glass paint and frit glass. They apply this technique on coasters and jewelry.
12:00 - 13:00 Lunch
13:00 - 13:30 Participants take their work from kiln and clean them
13:30 - 15:00 Participants make their work using Schott glass. They pick molds for making plates and panels and make their own pattern.
15:00 - 15:30 Participants are taught sandblasting technique on 2 fusing plates prepared on the first day.
15:30 - 16:00 Participants place their work in the kiln.
