We will celebrate the joy of being by entering into a playful dance with the glass. In dialogue with the material we will bring objects into existence and visions to life. We will be making small precious objects and fragile creatures at the flame of the burner, drawing the forms out of a glass rod or tube. The pieces we make will radiate light and brightness either in their glistening transparency or their jewel-like colour. The only prequisite is openness and the readiness to allow yourself to be led by the glass. We will draw inspiration from each other and exchanging ideas.
Main topics of the course:
- Presentation an demonstration of techniques, practical as well as by using different media – slides, video etc.
- Introduction to the use of the lampwork equipment – tools, burner - as well as different glass types – rods, tubes, borosilicate glass etc.
- Introduction to different colours – coloured glass, metal oxides.
- Lampwork practice at the flame of the burner.
